Our Story

The Palmerston And Litchfield Seniors Association Inc. has been operating since 1997.  The organisation operated under various names between 1997 to late 2014 when it became an Incorporated Association.

It was originally established to provide morning tea and some minor events for seniors of Palmerston.  Having became incorporated, its scope was expanded to include providing events for seniors of both Palmerston and Litchfield.  The Association is supported by the City of Palmerston and Litchfield Council and many other sponsors.

The Association has a General Committee comprising of 15 volunteer members, of which 5 represent the senior residents of the Litchfield Council region and 10 represent the senior residents of Palmerston region.  The Management Team, comprising of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Public Officer who manage and operate the day-to-day operations.

Membership of the Association is renewed annually effectively from the 1 January to 31 December each year.  The Association runs many fund-raising events throughout the year in order to minimise costs to seniors to attend events.  The events include a Seniors Fortnight Program which is conducted in Seniors Month – August. Regular events for seniors include morning teas (currently 3 per month) and movies, bi-monthly.
